MaryClaire "Murnie" Murnan - Athletics have always been a part of Murnie’s life. Murnie played competitive soccer for 10 years, and when she attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha she won the National Soccer Championship. In  2005, Murnie discovered rock climbing and immediately fell in love.  She competed in local competitions and won!  The competitions included 24 hours of horseshoe hell, which is a 24 hour outdoor sport climbing competition.   The joy of rock climbing led her to work at the outdoor venture center where she focused on teaching and coaching rock climbing and creating routes for her clients.   After completing her degree in exercise science, Murnie enhanced her expertise as a rock climber with certifications as personal trainer, performance enhancement specialist, and corrective exercise specialist.  As Head Coach of the Shaker Rocks' Youth Competetive Team, Murnie values serving and connecting with people to help them reach their full potential to soar
**Murnie is also a personal trainer!
Ian Young - Ian has been climbing for over 6 years and setting routes for 4 years. He is an accomplished sport and trad climber, boulderer, and occasionally an ice climber and mountaineer. Ian has climbed throughout the country on a wide variety of rock and terrain. He loves sport climbing in the New River Gorge, and the Red River Gorge on weekends with friends, but has an affinity for the tall, adventurous, multi-pitch trad climbing of Eldorado Canyon and Seneca Rocks. He has a strong knowledge of strength training and fitness, spending many years doing martial arts, wrestling, and weightlifting. Through routesetting, Ian has become a “student of movement”, learning as much as possible about how the body works, and how we move through three-dimensional space. He has developed a strong understanding of technique and efficiency, but also when and how to be powerful and dynamic. Ian has had the pleasure of introducing numerous people to the sport, and teaching movement and technique on a daily basis through his routes. Ian is a Cleveland native and when he’s not climbing enjoys hiking the Appalachian Trail, backcountry canoeing in northern Ontario, and spending time with his fiancé and two dogs.

When she’s not climbing she is working at Cuyahoga Arts and Culture as grant program manager.
Chris Davey - Chris' primary joy in life is introducing people to new outdoor activities and helping them gain confidence.
